The Paul Yeaton Guest Room

The Paul Yeaton Room is named after the fine builder of the Inn. We understand that this is the room he and Lydia chose to use as their own for many years.

Now, a light-filled second floor guest room, it features two comfortable historic beds and a private bathroom.

Overlooking the circular garden and northern lawn, guests who stay here comment on the privacy and quiet. The carved wood-burning fireplace warms the cooler nights; an air conditioner cools the sunlit summer days.

A large bookcase is filled with a collection of books; some are nautical, some others are rather antique. A diminuitive sofa
is a wonderful spot to converse, or, if you prefer to be alone, to curl up with a great picture book or story.

This room gets particularly lovely morning light and has a good view of our neighbors' horses, which often graze in the paddock surrounded by the original stone wall, just across the road.

Let's step across the hall…

"He most lives
Who thinks most,
Feels the noblest,
Acts the best."
— Maine Farmers' Almanac, 1891.
