"…from then on
none of us ever thought
there was any place
in the world
like that lake
in Maine."
—E.B. White

With seven crystal-clear lakes as the centerpiece, we enjoy the profoundly beautiful, natural environment as it progresses day to day, season to season, and year to year.

Our rural inn is located just a few minutes from the scenic Village of Belgrade Lakes. Home of the original LL Bean Camp and famed by the story "On Golden Pond," Elizabeth Arden's Maine Chance Farm for exhausted celebrities operated nearby. For generations, professionals have been restored by relaxing in our peaceful surroundings.

Our scenic lakeside cottage, a rental three miles from the Inn, is located at one of the best fishing spots.

Other outdoor sports abound as well. And the lakes offer some of the most wonderful swimming, boating and kayaking opportunities in Maine.

The Inn's "out of Village" location provides our guests with "quiet." This translates into birds, trails and the marvelous display of natural beauty, flowers, trees and wildlife.

Nearby Kennebec Highlands Preserve has five uninhabited lakes, 20 miles of trails and 5400 acres of protected natural beauty. Guests are also welcome to explore the Inn's tranquil wooded trail. Later on this tour we will show you some of our "neighbors."

If you can't wait to start exploring the area, Liberty, our Inn canine, is guiding a side tour through the autumn woods to the lake. Should you be interested, just look below, and you will find photographic walks during each of our beautiful seasons.

Or, continuing on the Doorway Tour, let's catch a glimpse of the "pond"…
